The executive director of the Maison de l’innovation sociale passes the torch
With great pride and emotion for the work he and his team have accomplished since the organization’s earliest days, he welcomed his successor, Marie-Christine Ladouceur-Girard, to MIS.
Prior to joining MIS, Marie-Christine Ladouceur-Girard was the Director of the Bureau d’intégration des nouveaux arrivants à Montréal (BINAM) at the Service de la diversité et de l’inclusion sociale of the City of Montreal, a municipal actor that is renowned both nationally and internationally. A seasoned manager with a dozen years of experience as a senior executive, notably at the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, she is recognized for her creative and strategic vision, her ability to deliver major projects, and her skills in mobilizing partners from different networks. She holds a master’s degree in international administration from ENAP and a bachelor’s degree in international relations and international law from UQAM.
The members of the Board not only expressed their full confidence in her, but also recognized the immense contributions of her predecessor. Luciano Barin Cruz, President of the Board of Directors, said that Marie-Christine Ladouceur-Girard’s profile perfectly fits MIS’s organizational needs, allowing it to preserve its assets while also propelling it into its next development cycle.
“In addition to her many strengths in managing and mobilizing government, institutional, community and business stakeholders, her values rooted in equity, diversity and inclusion, and her ability to navigate complex environments, Marie-Christine can rely on the incredible work Patrick accomplished. His impactful leadership, his visionary and pioneering work in the field of social-innovation practice, and his entrepreneurial approach have shaped what MIS is today. The organization is fully focused on supporting innovative initiatives with the capacity to make game-changing social transformations in order to accelerate the transition. The team not only can see how far we have come in the past seven years; it can also look forward to the future with confidence.”
For his part, Patrick Dubé warmly welcomed the new Executive Director:
“With a talented and committed team, multiple structuring collaborations with stakeholders in Quebec and Canada, and a steadily increasing number of projects whose impact is clearly felt within territories and institutions, this is the right time to hand over the leadership of this organization that I love! It has been a great privilege to have been able to contribute, in collaboration with enormously talented colleagues, to what MIS has become today: an organization on a solid foundation, financially healthy, and offering essential services—more distinctive than ever. I feel a great sense of accomplishment. MIS is ready for the next chapter in its history. Welcome to the team, Marie-Christine!” – Patrick Dubé, Outgoing Executive Director
The new Executive Director thanked the members of the Board of Directors, as well as the outgoing Executive Director, for their confidence.
“Social innovation is at the heart of our collective capacity to find solutions to the most pressing challenges. I am honoured to be at the helm of the Maison de l’innovation sociale, a relevant and, I hope, increasingly impactful institution. I would like to thank both the Board of Directors for their confidence and my predecessor, Patrick Dubé, for helping to build the foundation of this important impact vehicle.” – Marie-Christine Ladouceur-Girard, Executive Director
Patrick Dubé will serve as a strategic advisor to the organization’s executive management during the transition phase. The necessary conditions are in place to ensure a smooth transition for the benefit of the MIS team, its projects, and the partners with whom it collaborates.
